Barring caller id not working iphone ios11

I think since the recent ios11 upgrade my iphone SE (which is set to bar caller id) doesn't always caller id bar. I spoke to O2 who suggested dialling 141 first! That is a real pain. Does anybody else have this issue? I've tried turning the "show my caller id" on and off and resetting the phone. Apple seem unable to help.

just tried it on my iphone 8 ios 11.1 beta and working fine

iPhone 11 Pro 256gb on unlimited data
iPad Pro 12.9” 2020 256gb refresh o2 family discount
Apple Watch series 4
