We don't know unfortunatly.

As soon as O2 purchases the bands they'll be able to turn it on.

I believe they're rolling out the kit at the moment.

Unfortunately its all waiting on a ridiculous expensive auction.

It won't be happening on O2 for at least 12 months. If you want it now, in limited areas, you need to go to EE and pay though the nose for it.....
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Unless you live in one of the participating cities 4G will be useless to you at the moment. Even then indoor coverage is patchy and inconsistent to say the least. The networks are looking to start rolling out 4G next summer.

"Pay Monthly customers who buy iPhone 5 from O2 can upgrade during their contract to get their hands on a new 4G phone any time they want."

I wonder if this means that the iPhone 5 through O2/CPW are out of the agreement:(
