18 month iPhone 5 contracts

Anonymous

Just rang o2 to leave (wanted to go with a Phones4u offer with Orange) as i want the iPhone 5 on an 18 month contract but ended up going on a simplicity contract as they said they are reviewing their iPhone contracts in January. I'm really hoping they do introduce 18 month contracts! Would have left and moved to Orange but at least I won't have to fork out £200+ for a phone over Xmas :).

Has anyone else heard anything?

My personnel opinion is anything over 12 months is too long to be locked in.

Why ?

Because of the fast nature of this industry to changing tariffs and handsets.

They tend to produce shorter contracts as there becomes more competition for newer phones.

Obviously at launch they try and tie in people for as long as possible. 6months later there's a hell of a lot more competition so they start reducing the contracts.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong. So Ive been told wink
