text ringtone for my new Samsung Galaxy S3 mini

Got my upgrade tonite :slight_smile:  have been trying to set tone for when texts come through, but can't work out how i can have the sound i have on my current phone as it only gives a list of default ones i think it said 😞 , but for my ringtone i can add my own hmm ...not happy bunny if i can't have ringtone for texts of my choice and have to have a default one or is there a way to use other than default? any he;p would be appreciated ta

I found the easiest way is to connect the phone to the PC and drag the file into the notifications folder.

thanx for reply jonsie....i've already bluetoothed the sound i want from old phone to new one, but can't workout how to use it as sound for texts 😞

thanks for help jonsie...have had a quick look at Zedge & seems they have the sound i want & have had for yrs for texts, so will look into what to do next when i get home from work :slight_smile: fingers crossed i'll get it sorted lol otherwise i'll have to settle for the whistle lol thanks again :slight_smile:

When downloading n setting a notification sound. You have to then go to the APP you want to play that sound, theen openenue n settings. Then notification sounds and then u set the sound u want (u get 2 choices... android sound or a zedge sound. Select JUST ONCE or u may have a prob changing it again.

As i'd already moved sound from old phone to new one i didn't need to use Zedge :wink: but least i can look there for wallpapers or other stuff :slight_smile: ....hooked phone up to laptop & moved it from one folder to another & hey presto when i went to choose text sound it was in the list hehe :slight_smile: thanks again jonsie

Thanks Jonsie.  I had this problem too and was able to send the text tone I wanted into the notifications folder (using Windows Explorer) and it worked a treat.  Thanks again.
