Hi everyone!
I literally just dropped my phone and now it won't work. I can hear messages coming into the phone but the screen won't work at all. I upgraded in March this year so not due for another one and no money to repair it!
Any advice on what to do much appreciated! Carphone Warehouse have quoted £80 and I don't have that!
Thanks in advance,
Jess xx

No insurance company would allow anyone to take out a policy after the phone is damaged.
Hi,
Likely true if they knew the circumstances in advance, but I've known a few folk to be economical with the details and wait for the exclusion period to pass and then claim. But this aside it's not particularly ideal or suitable I know.

Hardly worth the risk. Apart from it being fraud, and highly illegal, the cost of paying any excesses, as you have mentioned, would also come into play.

Your best option it would seem would be to send the phone back to O2 or Samsung. They will give you a price for the repair which you can accept or decline. At least you will get a definitive cost. In the meantime check if any of your friends have old phones lying around in drawers or buy a cheap phone to tide you over until your circumstances improve.

Absolutely will do. Thanks so much for all the advice - most definitely won't be breaking any laws of illegal fraud for insurance claims!
@bambino - the screen is cracked but is also completely black. Only the two lights at the bottom turn on when I press the power/home button. The notifications keep going off so it's definitely on and still receiving texts etc.. thoughts on if that's internal damage or not? Need to mentally prepare for a higher quote before going in to carphone warehouse..

Very wise thoughts concerning insurance.
I'm presuming you bought the phone from CPW, hence you going to them for a quote. It would seem your only option. As it's a pretty new phone, you'll just have to pay for the repair. Let's hope for your sake that it's the screen and nothing more. Please come back and let us know how you get on. Good luck.
