samsung galaxy 3 ringtones

Have just put micro sd card with all my music into my new galaxy s3 and want to use some tracks for ringtones, but cant find out how to transfer them accross can anybody help as I am new to this type of tec, having had a standard plain old brick for a phone.

As well as doing as Mike suggested you could use an app called MP3 Ringtone Maker, really easy to use and it's free.

go into your music player
select the track you want to use as a ring tone
click the left hand touch switch and you will have a list of things to do to the track.
click set as and you should see ...
phone ringtone
caller ringtone
alarm tone

Thanks it works a treat, can you now tell me how to set a ring tone when I get a text message because that dosn`t work using this method. Thanks

ON your phone you will see a folder called "Media". Copy the tune you want to use into this folder then go into the text message app. Select Menu >Settings >Notification then choose the tone you just copied.
