Hi All.

Hope someone can help me with this problem ,,,,,, I used to get a vibration alert when i got a text message when phone was on silent but a few days ago the vibration stopped , I still get vibration on call etc but not on getting a text , thanks in advance

You can set vibration in the message app settings. Open the message app and press Menu then Settings and see if it's active in there.

i have looked in message settings and there is no option to set vibrate only select ringtone

Strange, I'm sure there is a setting there in ICS but been so long since I used it now I can't remember... How about Settings >Sound?

yes i have looked in sound and all there is a genral setting for vibration ie on / off  ..as i say it does vibrate on all actions except when getting a text

I understand you and I was sure the setting is in the message app (but I can't check as I don't have a phone running ICS). Have you added any new apps recently that may have effected the message settings?

As you seem to be missing the vibrate option it would explain why you have no vibration. Try a reboot to see if the option comes back. If it's really important to you you may have to do a factory reset.
