Hi @Anonymous and Welcome to the forum.

I'm assuming you've just upgraded to a 4G tariff ?

Sometimes the upgrade can take a little while - up to 24 hours.

Input your info here https://www.o2.co.uk/4g/setup/

Check their are no carrier updates to complete on the software updates section of your phones settings.

Is their a 4G or H+ symbol in your phones status bar to show your on 4G

Check your masts in Service Status via putting your full postcode here http://status.o2.co.uk

Look at your SIM card to ensure is says 4G on it and if so give it a wipe down.

If it is 3G then you'll need to visit an O2 shop and get it swapped out or have one posted to you and perform the swap yourself here http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk

Look in your Myo2 to ensure your tariff does say your on a 4G tariff. If not speak to O2 on 202 and not via Live Chat.

Look in your phones settings to ensure 4G is turned on. I'm not 100% sure this is the way so have a look.

1. Slide open the notifications panel, and then tap Settings
2. Now tap Mobile network (to the left of the Off/On switch)
3. Tap on Network Mode
4. Choose between 2G/3G auto or 2G/3G/4G auto

Let us know how you get on.

I havn't on my HTC One either,   but there again having checked it in different areas it is probable that O2 dont have 4G coverage there.

What seems like months ago I got a text from O2 saying my phone was 4g ready and if I did this and that I would get 4g.

What utter rubbish I found when chatting to O2 in one of their shops - Not likely to see 4g round here till later in the year or next year with luck

Hi @Anonymous

The idea is to have as many people as possible on 4G tariffs for when the Network upgrades is complete ~ http://www.o2.co.uk/connectivity/network-coverage/the-next-big-thing

And if and when you do commute your phone will switch to 4G when it's available.

It's also why I've added the Service Checker in my reply to the OP so they can see if 4G is actually available where they are based.

Is 4G available in your location?

What checks have you made during your chat with O2?

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

In addition to what has been written above, if you are sure you are in a 4G area, have a 4G SIM and have enabled 4G in your network settings then try turning the phone off and back on as this is sometimes required for services to be updated.
