Recently upgraded to a new device, I've been sent a new sim card with the new device and I wanted to change my number opposed to swaping my sim. How do I change my number to a new one?

The only way to change your number is via a sim swap

Personally I would use your old sim in your new phone for now as swaps are taking ages.

In the meantime use your old sim, dn't transfer it to the new sim yet

The new SIM should come with a new number - check what it says on the pack or container the SIM comes in, @GalaxyS20new 

If it has a different number from your normal one, pop in the SIM and away you go - no hassle of texting to swap your number from old to new SIM

If not, then it's time to use the advice posted above, sadly.
