No they wont exchange for new. It will be a refurb.
You best bet is to contact Huawei direct. https://consumer.huawei.com/uk/support/

They will have to check the phone first so it will be sent away They won't just change it I'm afraid.

They were all replaced by Huawei so O2 should be aware and have good stock now.
Currently using:
OnePlus 6 (O2 & Sfr), Z3 Tablet (Three UK), iPhone 8+ (EE)

You should get a new device from the replacement stock imo as there's no guarantee any replacement display won't be from the affected initial batch.

IF you are thinking about sending it back to O2, the first question I would be asking @michals is Will I be getting a NEW phone as this is a 'known issue'.
If they can't guarantee that, then you really are better off talking to Huawei. (who certainly will know about the problem.)
