htc one switched off by itself, flashing led whilst on charge

Hi,

My HTC one switched off by itself whilst I was at work last night and I can't turn it back on, the led light flashes when it's on charge trying to connect. I've tried holding the power and volume button nothing works. I contacted o2 this morning, I had the tech guru saying I could get a replacement and the insurance team tell me it had to go for repair, even though it's insured and stills under warranty. What do you guys suggest?

Speak with customer service

A good piece of general advice.

As we've come across before if a first contact call does not yield fruitful results the first time ,it can pay to call back and speak to another agent.

Seriously !!!
This is a straightforward warranty repair.
Absolutely no need to drag this on page after page.
The only choice to make is O2 or HTC repair process but as they both go to Anova that's a mute point too.....

Warranty is the first port of call as it's not yet eligible for an insurance claim.
If the warranty team say it is water damage or damaged beyond repair it then becomes an insurance job.

This is pretty much the route you need to take. And the route I would take.

Everything else is muddying the water so to speak.

When the battery runs out completely, the HTC One sometimes behaves as if it is dead.  Leaving it plugged into the charger overnight can often clear the apparent fault.  It's almost like it needs some power in the battery to enable the charging circuit and by leaving it plugged in & cycling through the will I charge, won't I charge, sequence, it collects enough power & starts charging normally.
