Hi, can you please go to android play store and disable auto updates.
Also can you go into Xperia update centre and turn OFF automatic updates.
And do not update the system app "backup and restore"
Will post back soon, still finding out details but it is very urgent that
ALL XPERIA OWNERS DO THE ABOVE ASAP.!!!

There is no certainty that the app is capable of doing anything at all at the moment so I would just ensure that you don't run any backups for now.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

Agreed at the moment it's just the stock app that has now been overwritten with ownership. If you disable the automatic updates, then "if" the app is updated to something more sinister that might harvest info it won't update to it on your phone.
But as MI5 said, don't run any backups or updates at the moment.

You can also force stop it and disable it for now for peace of mind.
Once sorted you can enable it again.
