can I upgrade and keep apps and number if I can't access damaged phone

My current andriod phone is damaged and screen is black and unresponsive. Can I upgrade but keep all my details if I can't access the damaged phone?

It's Android so it will depend on how much is backed up to your Google Account

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
