Go to the call log and long press on the number you want to block, then select add to reject list. Do the same in the message app to block texts as well.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Try going to the message app and press Menu >Settings >Block List (look for similar words as it does vary between firmwares).

If you have a Samsung Galaxy S7, the procedure for this is different, as I have just found out. It's a case of "RTFM!", if anyone knows what that means!
Open the Phone app, click MORE, Settings, Block list. You can then enter a number manually, or click the LOG button to go to the call log, and select the offending number. Save by clicking on '+' (don't forget this, or it will all have been a frustrating waste of time).

Call blocked.

Firmwares are being constantly updated so indeed, it does pay, to read the manual wink
