Xperia z external battery connector cover message

I upgraded to an Xperia Z in June, I have noticed that the external cover for the battery connector is easily popped open. When I switch the phone on I get the message about 'water resistance, please close the external covers'. It is closed. So I am assuming it isn't water resistant anymore. Anyone else have this issue? I have seen the websites regarding the other issues with lifting etc.

As the phone is still under warranty and water resistance water tight port covers are a feature if this issue alarms you, then seek assistance from the phones manufacturer.
