Hello all...
Upgraded to Lollipop last night.
Before the upgrade, I could wake my phone up, and unlock the screen by entering my chosen pattern.
After the upgrade, I now have to wake my phone up, swipe up, and then unlock with my pattern, meaning an additional and unrequired step.
Is there anyway to disable the swipe up, so that the waking up of the phone will take me straight to the unlock/pattern screen?
I had an online chat with a "Guru", but after restarting the phone, their only advice was for me to do a factory reset which seems somewhat drastic and that I am reluctant to do.
Thanks in advance for your comments and help.

It's the same on my Nexus 4 with 5.02.

I have just phoned Sony and been told that this is a new "feature".
I was expecting a new software release to make my life easier, not more tedious. So much for progress.
Oh well.
I also asked about the fact that you can no longer clear all recent apps at the press of one button, and that each must now be closed individually. I was told that this is another "feature" that makes for a more efficient use of RAM. In effect, you should not aim to close all your apps. By leaving them running in the background the phone is supposed to work more efficiently, using less processing and battery power.
So there.

That's right, empty ram uses the same battery as full ram, better to allow apps to sleep by themselves, otherwise it's harder to open apps from closed.
That's how I understand it and many agree: http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/42393/battery-usage-for-keeping-apps-open

Yep, battery usage is higher opening up closed apps
Genuinely did not know this! If you guys have any other battery-saving tips, do post them please
