Xperia T email problems

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice on reoccurring emails on Xperia T please. I delete them from phone and they come back again an hour, a day, a week or even a month or so later. I've tried marking them as read, then deleting them, but still the same. Didn't have this problem on my old blackberry torch.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you have your mail set up as a POP account this can happen. It's best to use IMAP if you can on mobile devices.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Open up you email account and press menu, then settings. Look for incoming settings and change the incoming server to imap instead of POP. You may have to look at your email providers website for the correct port numbers to use as these change also.

For example if it currently says "pop.virginmedia.com" change it to "imap.virginmedia.com" then change the port from 110 to 995 etc....
