Re: Wrong Network ID on Samsung Galaxy

prking Thanks for most detailed reply so far.
First of all my phone number is now recorded correctly in the settings details i had to add it in contacts - i believe that the phone picks this up from the "my number" details in contacts, so no problem there.
The issue remains as to why the phone displays Vodafone IE instead of the actual network O2-UK? When i do a search for available networks all the usual ones are there with the exception of O2-UK.
Those numbers you quoted - where can i find them in the phone can they be checked or changed?

Re: Wrong Network ID on Samsung Galaxy

You can't change them , they are transmitted. Its more likely a problem with the handset. I would see if there is a software update available, if not, then you could send the phone for repair.

Re: Wrong Network ID on Samsung Galaxy

I did update the phone to froyo 2.2 there was no change to the network name.
I'm considering a factory reset - could this work?

Re: Wrong Network ID on Samsung Galaxy

Upgraded to Gingerbread - still no luck.
The phone is still reporting the wrong network.
I'm surprised no one has a solution to this short of a factory reset!
Does O2 monitor this forum it would be nice to hear from them.

Re: Wrong Network ID on Samsung Galaxy

Silverhill - did you ever get your issues resolved. My wifes galaxy has the same issue only this time it shows Meteor. O2 are suggesting that there is an issue with the phone and that it has to go back for repair. Would be keen to hear how you raired out.
