Hi guys,
I have a old samsung s3 which previously had a o2 micro sim in it.
I would like to take over this phone and have put in a new o2 micro sim card but a different contract.
The phone just says 'Mobile network unavailable' and it says 'mobile network state is disconnected'. What do I do?

You can check the IMEI number on http://www.checkmend.com/uk/
If this says phone is clear it needs to go for a repair.

As long as the phone is either locked to 02 or unlocked to all netwroks it should accept any 02 sim wether its contract or payg.
Trying a soft reset or hard reset of your phone may help.If you try a hard reset then make a back up of your data first as this can delete it.

You may need to check your my02 to make sure your account is ok and or ring o2 on 202 from a working 02 phone or From a landline 0844 809 0202 5p / min
Or speak to live chat.

the phone is with o2 and was my cousins but his contract ended a couple of months ago so he wiped it
Try another sim card in it if possible to rule out you sim card at fault.
Phones are in my experiance only imei blocked if they are reported as lost or stolen.
Not for paying a phone bill.

i have already tried 2 sim cards and it is coming up with the same message
Contact 02 then and they will check if the phone is blacklisted.
