Voicemail Notification Will Not Go Away

Anonymous
Not applicable

Every time I turn my phone on or restart it I get a notificiation for a new voicemail. I don't use voicemail and have it switched off. When I phone 901 it confirms that I don't have any voicemails. I have tried my SIM in another phone and even in an Apple phone and get the same notification every time. I have tried calling ##002# to clear everything and even that won't work. What can I do to get rid of this notification once and for all! Thanks.

Many many thanks MI5.  I have had this problem for years and was not sure how it arose or how to solve it: your suggestion worked fine.  Thanks again.
