Vertical Coloured Lines on my HTC M8

Anonymous

Hi all

as suggested by the title, I am having some issues with my HTC M8.

The other day, I switched off my phone to go into a meeting (for security reasons) and at the end of the meeting, I switched it back on to be presented with a screen of coloured vertical lines. The phone itself is still working, accepting calls, texts and responding to touch.

Unfortunately I can't see anything beyond the lines, but when I swipe the screen, the colours change to indicate I am on another page.

I have tried to do a hard reset but I must have the fastboot enabled as even with a good bit of guesswork, I can't get it reset.

Just wondered whether anyone has had this issue and if so, how have you resolved it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Doug

One thing o2 repairs are very good at is blaming any fault on water damage. That comes up on here time and time again. Even if the phone is in the bathroom whilst you have a bath / shower the steam may get in. Or if you walk along in the rain.

If it didn't fall recently it will not be connected (not impossible of course but very, very unlikely) .

When it's due to a fall it happens almost straight away or in the next few hours.

Like the boys said it looks software related, so I'm afraid it needs repairing....

As for Anovo they don't repair this kind of fault if it involves replacing any components, they will send it to HTC anyway.

Might as well cut out the middle man and go direct to HTC, I would.

HTC use Anovo too.
