Using Location on Samsung Galaxy S6 in Japan Tokyo. Charges ?

Anonymous

Hello Everyone.

So basiclly i'm off to Japan Tokyo for 11 nights in November and i hired a mini wifi box to take around with me to save myself those crazy international charges. So my question is, if i switch on my location in Japan while connected to this rented wifi box will i get charged or do you only get charged when you use your mobile date/location/charged wifi ?

Turn mobile data off totally and only enable wifi then it will only use the wifi box for data so no data roaming charges

iPhone 11 Pro 256gb on unlimited data
iPad Pro 12.9” 2020 256gb refresh o2 family discount

My first mobile was in 1995 a CM-R111 from sony on Cellnet.

Indeed as @Anonymous as @adamtemp64 has said. I have a wifi box installed in my apartment in Spain and have never incurred data roaming charges (as long as I am within location of the box)

You need to set the phone to use WiFi only for location services and turn off the phone based gprs aspect.
You can use the inbuilt phone GPS locator too without using data.
Settings >Location services.
