I bought my OnePlus 6 recently but can't update it to android pie. Is it because of the carrier?

Hi @Hassan_Abrar

In checking out the OnePlus 6 on the O2 shop, it's operating system is shown as Oreo, so I assume O2 have yet to roll Google Pie out.

I'll tag in @Chris_K who can, later on this morning, provide any information on a date when O2 is likely to roll out Google Pie for the OnePlus 6, if a date is known.

In the meantime, welcome to the forum Welcome

Your OP6 will get Pie, but not yet. It will also come directly from OP as there is no carrier customisation on this phone..

  • OnePlus 6

OnePlus phones confirmed to be receiving Android 9.0 Pie:

  • OnePlus 5T
  • OnePlus 5

The September security update for my OP3T came down earlier this week, still waiting patiently for the much-vaunted Pie to land...20**Personal info** 20_11_17-Desperate Dan Eats Cow Pie (Unframed) - EAS Art Gallery Dundee.png
