Hi, We bought a Huawei phone for our son from the O2 shop a couple of months ago and have now received a 16 digit unlock code (we hope)....

In the email, it says 'Press left soft key, handset prompts a screen where user can input
NCK password
' but call me stupid :flushed:,

  1. I can't find anywhere where the Left Soft Key is located on the phone
  2. I assume after this, I enter the 16 digit number?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

NCK Code

These are usually referred to as "Network" (NCK) or "Service Provider" (SPCK) locks and can be removed using the corresponding unlock codes, which are unique to each phone depending on its IMEI. Typically, a locked handset will display a message if a restricted SIM is used, requesting the unlock code.

Hope that helps and welcome to the forum

Hi Cleoriff,

Thanks for that-I have read that quite a few times but just wanted to make sure that the NCK password is the one you enter to unlock the phone? Also, I have no idea where to find the 'left soft key' on the handset?.....

Again, maybe I'm a bit stupid but I'd rather make sure I'm doing the right thing! :joy:

Left soft key probably refers to a "button" on the screen rather than a physical button.
I would guess that (at some point) there will be options at the left and right bottom of the screen...

What are soft keys on Android?

The Navigation Buttons on a device which are software oriented are called soft keys on Android Phones. They are present on the screen as a part of the software.

When you start the phone with a non o2 sim card in, it will ask you to enter the unlock code on the screen automatically.
