I have a Samsung S2 and my friend is using a mobile with the Swiss code +41. He is now in this country and is texting me, I am receiving the texts but he is not receiving mine although it looks as if mine have been sent. Please help as this will be our only communication when we meet in London tomorrow Thankyou 🙂

Yes if he could roam onto O2 it would be ideal....
Turning off and on his phone might also help the text issue.
He would need to find "Network Selection" on his phone to choose to do a manual roam, but as Adam says it varies from phone to phone....

Can you get him to check that he has not accidentally blocked your number?
Alternatively, if he has a smartphone, use whatsapp or BBM for messaging....

Not sure if this is relevant but I have a friend who lives in Spain and when she and her family travel to the UK,

they switch to a UK mobile or sim.

I know they shouldn't have to... but they always experience problems when they use their Spanish

phones/numbers here and it is always text related.

I am receiving his messages. I managed to get through on Facebook, he hasn't blocked my number, it was working alright when he was at home in Switzerland but as soon as he got to the UK I could receive texts but he wasn't getting my replies. He only has internet connection at the hotel

Yes, this would have been better but he is now wandering around London, it is also hard to explain in German and I am due to meet up tomorrow morning, rather stressful aargh. The internet connection is temperamental and he is only using Facebook at the hotel in the mornings etc

It may be due to the network he is roaming on whilst here.
He could try a manual network search and choose a different network to the one his phone has automatically locked onto....

Is it normal then for me to be getting his texts with no problem but for me to be unable to reply, it doesn't tell me that they haven't gone with the usual red exclamation mark. No doubly he will get them all when he returns home. I am turning my phone on and off for ten minutes as I read on another post, might this work?

@Melchica  That is exactly what happens to my friends. I for instance could get their texts, but they never

 received mine.

They also had problems with their contacts..in that their phone recognised the Spanish contacts but not UK

ones (when they are in the UK)

The whole issue has been resolved now, since they have a seperate phone for UK use.

The problem will be that your text is sent to the message server OK but it is not then getting forwarded to your friend phone.
They may well come through eventually but it would be more helpful for your friend to manually roam on a different network to see.....

What should I ask him to look for when he is manually roaming, would it show O2, I can only ask him to do this when he returns to his hotel later on and I will have to try and translate it to German....lol, thanks 🙂
