Terrible problems with LG G3

Anonymous
Not applicable

Since I got my LG G3 (Sometime early in the year) I've had terrible problems with it, including:

Getting very hot.

Very poor GPS performance.

Very poor battery life of approx 4-5 hours.

Very laggy.

Call audio dropouts - incoming and outgoing.

Device turning itself off which requires removing and reinserting the battery.

Many visits to my local o2 store have been useless, I've been told that the guarantee I have is now between myself and LG, I've checked this and I really don't believe this is case. They have said that I need to send it to LG for it to be checked.

I've demonstrated some of the problems in store only to be told that it's normal for a phone to get hot, the 02 employee even watched the battery life constantly draining and said that it's the battery at fault , I bought a new battery and nothing improved.

All I've asked for is a replacement handset, not even a new one - refurbished will be fine until I can get out of the contract but this apparently is not possible until it's been sent to LG to be checked.

Is this the normal level of customer service that I can expect and how can I progress this further?

If you check their webpage (link below) there is a section about repair.

http://www.lg.com/uk/support-mobile/lg-LGD855

It does state only 12 months warranty, so you might need to check your purchase date.

It also links to schedule a repair, and give a phone number for a UK service centre.

O2 have to honour the warranty but to be honest with you, you will get a better service from LG directly.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Have you tried a factory reset? It sounds as though you could have problems with an app. I would certainly try that first but as said, forget o2's repairers and go direct to the manufacturer always.

The way your describing the issue it sounds like a process is not closing in the background. Your phone should shut down if it gets to warm. If it doesn't, it will cook like my wife's s6

It's usually a rogue (badly written) app keeping the processor running constantly.
