Ive noticee on some webistes i browse with the stock browser on my S5 that sometimes i will get redirected to some random site. It redirects within the same tab so dont think its a popup and popup blocker is on
Its always site ive not visited before like gaming or PC forums. Never happens on websites i know are trustworthy although i believed the ones i visited were (sorry cant remember url). The redirects are usually to pornsites or trying to get my to download a ringtone or whatever but i quickly back out of them
I only install apps from Google Play nothing else and careful what i download and install so sure that side is safe. So could it just be ads within these sites causing this? With Stagefright 2 been discovered that can comprimise a device just by watching an mp4 video its abit worrying
Thanks

As a temporary fix you could reset your browsers data and cache on you application settings - be aware your bookmarks and browsing history would all be reset.
Although I use chrome and very rarely get this kind of issue I typically stay to the same bookmarks whilst on the web.
Firefox and Addblock do very good alternative browsers which can add a further barrier to intrusive adds and pop ups.

Usualky they are adverts within the site itself, even with security apps on, you still have a chance that you'll get them

You could try downloading Malwarebytes and run a scan to see if there's anything lurking in the background that shouldn't be there. The app is free on Google Play.

Tried running Malwarebytes, got a minute or so in then crashed. Happens everytime and going on the reviews on the Play Store its quite common. Didnt find anything before the crash
Suspect it is ad related, which is abit of a concern for everyone going forward now Stagefright 2.0 as its being called has been found

having you tried running the device in safe mode incase a rouge app is causing the redirects
Press and hold the Power/Lock key for one or two seconds to turn on the device. 3. When the Samsung logo displays, press and hold the Volume down key until the lock screen displays. When the lock screen displays Safe mode will be shown in the lower-left corner of the screen.
this disables all 3rd party apps until you restart the device again

Best to avoid all coloured apps entirely
