Sony Xperia Z5 has an issue with a misaligned lens

So here are some test photos I've taken a little earlier - I varied between 4:3 and 16:9 ratio (23mp and 20mp respectively)

There is definitely A LOT of blurring/lack of focus/sharpness at the edges:

For example, this photo:

The bell is in focus but check out the bushes - they seem very blurred!

Maybe it's the automatic mode using too small a focal length? That'd explain why the bell is relatively sharp but beyond that everything is blurred - almost like it's a portrait shot where you want the person to be focused and the background softer.

And here: http://i.imgur.com/hEgwHyk.jpg

The auto mode identified it as a landscape but look at the bush to the left.

The quality doesn't match my expectations 😞

Edit: In fact, it seems like the problem is all down the lefthandside like other users have reported 😞

---------------

This has been reported on xda: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/general/camera-performance-quality-flash-t3206214

And on Sony's support forums: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z5-Z5-Compact-Z5-Premium/Z5C-blurry-camera-images-more-blur-on-...

I'm going to be returning my handset - what is the process for that? I don't want another Z5 if the issue is only going to happen with a new phone (I do not want my 14-day return period to expire while I'm swapping around trying to get lucky with a working camera).

OK, that's slightly better then, as long as the Daddy doesn't suffer the same Astounded

Hopefully the 'flagship' device will be better then?

Being honest @MI5
I don't hold much hope, the samples I saw still have the s6 (note 4 +software tweaks) producing better pics.
Imo, cheap lens array.

And Galaxy S6

Both are Sony lenses, one 16mp, one 23mp.

Cheap lenses surely?

My device is the Z5 - not the compact (or Premium).

I've spoken to 02 and I'll be returning the device tomorrow.

No idea what device to upgrade to instead.

Lens aside, the Sony software is battering detail in greenery, look at the ops pics of the grass, patches of detail but software has compressed the detail too much.

God dammit Sony,

Seriously was hoping this was limited to compact...

Get the s6 edge, I went to that from Z3 and never looked back..
