Hi, tried to report this problem to O2, they've sent me to book an appt with a guru, but none avail for 2 weeks.
Problem is - internet access works well when on wifi. Recently started needed internet when out and about. But it just will not load.
Have downloaded the settings O2 sent, switched off / on etc. Still no luck.
Read on a sony forum somewhere that the
"settings / more / mobile network settings / Access Point Names need to be modified or set correctly, but don't know what those settings are. Can anyone help.
Thanks.

Hi,
Is your phone displaying the '3G' signal indicator in the phones status bar ?
Look for some settings within the phone to Reset Network Settings.
Search for a soft reset or hard reset of the phone although a hard reset usually means loss of data so be sure to make a back up first.
http://www.hard-reset.com/sony-xperia-sp-hard-reset.html
If you spoke to Live Chat then now ring 202 for Contract Customers or 4445 for Payg to ask them to check your account has been provisioned correctly.
The APN settings are here http://www.geeksquad.co.uk/articles/chapter/595-04-how-to-set-apn-settings-for-the-02-mobile-network to double check.
Try removing your Sim Card and wiping it down to remove static build up.
Try your sim in an alternative handset to help rule out wether its the phone or sim card.
Another option is to replace your current Sim Card by picking up a blank Sim Card from your local 02 shop, or ask for one to be posted to you.
Then carry out the SwapMySim procedure.
I have included the link to do this.
Take into account it takes from approx 2 hours to 24 hours to fully activate, and by turning your phone off and on throughout this period helps to reset your services.
