Sim Card won't retain Pay as You Go message centre

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have a Sony Erricsson Ray, lately I found I could not send sms but could receive them, When reading the forums I found the method of inserting the correct message centre by *#*#4636#*#*. Unfortunately when the phone is switched off then back on the problem returns. It seems to default to the Pay Monthly messaging centre.

The sim card and phone used to be Pay Monthly but I transferred t PAYG over a year ago.

Can anyone help or do I need to transfer over to a new sim card whilst keepin the same number?

Thanks in advance for any help

Pop into a your local O2 store and ask them for a P&G sim. You have the incorrect sim card as monthly will always revert to the settings stored on the sim card. They will arrange the number change for you.

It's free and you should be up and running again within the hour.

To all, this had never happened before and the phone has been switched off. It is really strange that it is happening for no reason I can think of.
Thanks for all your thoughts and ideas, I will pop into shop and try a sim card swap.

When the shop performs the sim swap - The service will stop on your original SIM card. This indicates the swap has started.

When this happens turn your phone off and on every 30 minutes or so with the new SIM card inserted to re connect you to the Network.

Just an update, the O2 shop swapped the sim and so far the sim and phone keeps the correct message centre even though I have switched the phone on and off several times. Thanks to everyone for their input and help.
