The Oreo update is now being rolled out in Germany, Poland and India.

Does O2 have a release date yet?

Yes it’s normal.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

When Project Treble finally rolls out these problems should disappear as Google will push out all the updates directly.

I've been with O2 since they were BTCellnet and where I live at the moment they have the best coverage so I'll probably stay with them.

I have no loyalty to a particular provider I go with the best deal and coverage combination when my contract is up for renewal. I will say though, this is my 1st and probably last Samsung.

Correct S9 has treble, S8 does not.

Google has added Treble to the Pixel1 but Samsung decided those of us on a year old S8 can look for a different phone provider as they don't give a damn about customers.

Regarding treble,
Generally devices that launch with Oreo are treble enabled, however most pre Oreo launched devices won't ever get it implemented.
It isn't down to screwing over customers on year old devices, a lot of it is down to contractual obligation and liability.

All that aside tho my 1st and lasting impression of Samsung has been tainted by this lengthy update process especially coming from a Nexus where I was able to update pretty darn quickly.

Anywho O2, any news on when we are going to get the Oreo update? That is after all why we all came to post on here!
