Samsung S4 mini - phone shuts down unexpectedly

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have a 2 week old S4 mini which randomly shuts down - usually after a period of inactivity (such as overnight - its dead each morning). I know the battery has a good charge and I'm unable to turn the phone back on again. The only solution is to take the back cover off and remove the battery for a few seconds and hey presto it powers up and the battery charge indicates 80% (or whatever).

Is this a battery problem or a software issue or simply a duff phone.

Any advice much appreciated.

Hi

Tbh I would be taking it back to where you got it from and exchanging it.

If via O2 hopefully your just on the 14 day faulty phone exchange terms.

It could be anything and ideally it needs testing by a professional, however, some battery saving apps are known to cause this type of problem. If you have anything like that installed it's worth removing them to check.

Thanks for prompt replies. Seems like the best option will be to get a replacement under the 14 day return policy.

Cheers
