Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Not Charging!

Anonymous
Not applicable

HELLLLPPPPPP! I have had my Samsung Galaxy tab s since around October/November last year. I have had no problems with it until this evening. I took my tab to work with me in my handbag. Took out this lunchtime and to my surprise it would not switch on at all. Am at home now and have been trying to turn it on now that it is plugged in. But alas it shows no signs of life whatsoever. No power, no nothing.

Is my tab dead? Have i not got no tab to play with? Or can it be repaired. I have quite a lot of stuff on it which i dont want to lose.

Can some knight in shining armour help a damsel in distress?

Thank you to everyone who replied. I am feeling rather pleased with myself this weekend. I managed to fix my charging problem! The fix was rather techincal, after doing some research online and watchign some You Tube videos.  To fix this fault, what you have to do is firstly take off the back of the tab, to reveal the motherboard. Be prepared to break a few nails. Then you need to look for the leads for the battery connection and gently prise them out to disconnet the connector and leave it out for a few minutes. Plug it back in and put  back of the tab back in place. Reconnect the charger and plug in and Viola! The tab will restart charging!! Mexican Wave

This fix saved me a small fortune in repair costs. I will get myself a new more padded cover for my tablet on pay day giving it more protection.

Plug it in and just leave it for a while to see it it comes to life.
If not you'll have to contact Samsung for warranty repairs.
Let me know if you want a service link for Samsung.

Are you able to try another charging lead ?

One latter avenue is http://www.hardreset.info/devices/samsung/samsung-galaxy-tab-s-105-wifi/ but beware this can delete saved data.

Also try a different charger if you have one or try plugging it into your PC with your data cable as that should charge it too, but it will be slow.

This isn't going to work if it won't power on 😞

If it's been left unused for a while with a flat battery, (not sure if this is the case here or not), it can take ages for it to start charging again. But it will usually recover on it's own eventually.

I had a Samsung handset which was left deeply discharged and it only recovered when I put the original Samsung charger on it. No other would charge it for some reason.

I have had my Tab S 10.5 on charge for three hours now and still no power or even signs of life. I do fear it is truly dead. Can it be fixed? I have stuff on it that i want to save if i can. I have backed up most stuff but i am worried now that my tab is beyond repair Cry

It could be something as small as the port being loose, try not to fret too much.
As @MI5 stated, your best option now is to get it to Samsung for a repair.
I'm sure he'll be able to provide the service link you require.

or the charger not charging...the battery not holding the charge....best thing to do is take it back to the store and they will perform basic tests like this...Fingers crossed! Hope you have a faulty charger there! wink
