Samsung has confirmed the Jelly Bean update is now available.

Update 20/10:

As you might have noticed, this hasn't gone live yet. We were expecting it to on Friday and are working with Samsung to figure out what went wrong and will update ASAP.

Hey Guys,

Good news! The wait time is almost over for Samsung Galaxy SIII users. From tomorrow, 19th October '12, you'll be be able to upgrade to the much awaited 4.1 Jelly Bean update over Wi-Fi or via Kies.

If you have activated the 'auto-update' feature from out of box, you will be prompted to download the 4.1 Jelly Bean update.

My Kies has just updated to handle new Firmware options, that could be promising

Same PRGG I thought wow, I am going to get it after all. But just Updating Kies, maybe coming soon. Be good to have this soon. Heading away for a week now. Hope this is available tonight or when I get back next week.

My phone keeps trying to connect to the software update server automatically, but then telling me there's no update.

Seems like it's on its way?

That update thing happens as it is constantly trying to connect to wifi, if it cannot find it you will end up in a constant loop, until it gets a wifi connection.  As for the Kies Update, I have run it and still not update to Android 4.1 😞

I want it before I go out this evening!

If anyone on O2 does actually update, please post asap.

For those that can't understand the fuss, obviously doubt have a SGS3 and some of its foibles. That should be fixed in the update.

 That's odd, I've got wifi, as I'm sat in work....being really productive, honest guv!
