Samsung has confirmed the Jelly Bean update is now available.

Update 20/10:

As you might have noticed, this hasn't gone live yet. We were expecting it to on Friday and are working with Samsung to figure out what went wrong and will update ASAP.

Hey Guys,

Good news! The wait time is almost over for Samsung Galaxy SIII users. From tomorrow, 19th October '12, you'll be be able to upgrade to the much awaited 4.1 Jelly Bean update over Wi-Fi or via Kies.

If you have activated the 'auto-update' feature from out of box, you will be prompted to download the 4.1 Jelly Bean update.

Finally!!!! I updated mine before I left for work this morning. Finally has an iOS feel to scrolling and touchscreen swiping. No lag.... It was my pet hate with the S3 compared to the iPhone (sorry to compare the products!!!!) I was an Apple man since the iPhone 3 way up to 4S so it was a big move. (lost £££ in paid apps 😞 )

But have to say initially it's now worth it lol.

Very easy update OTA. A brilliant WiFi signal and done in less than 10 minutes

From brief look about seems a nice smoother version. A couple new widgets. New modes in settings. A few of the colour schemes look good. A slightly bigger gap between space bar and the full stop (hopefully less dots on my typing! )

You'll probably have to recalibrate your battery (full charge discharge cycle)....
