Samsung Galaxy S8+ Wifi Calling

Anonymous
Not applicable

Now that o2 is going to be ending it's TuGo service I need to activate wifi calling on my device.

I have requested the 4G and wifi calling through o2 which should be activated in 24 hours however there is no option for me to activate Wifi calling on my S8+.

I have checked the firmware and it is the latest, however not an o2 firmware even though I purchased directly from an o2 store.

I need wifi calling as I get no signal at work, but it looks like I wont be able to make or recieve calls/texts if TuGo is going to end.

Can anyone provide any help on this?

Checked as per instructions (*#1234#) and it doesn't appear to be o2 firmware.

I guess o2 should update their own instructions because according to their own instructions it is not supported:

From https://www.o2.co.uk/help/network-coverage-and-international/wifi-and-4g-calling#how-do-i-set-up-wif...

"To check if your phone's running O2 firmware, dial *#1234# and look at the CSC entry. If this doesn't include TEF in the text then Wifi and 4G Calling isn't supported on your phone right now. If you need more info, get in touch"

I guess once you request for o2 WiFi calling to be enabled the option will appear.

Thanks for the help guys. Much appreciated.

Yes no updates available.
Got phone on o2 contract but from carphone wearhouse.
Any chance Wi-Fi calling will be available on o2 with non o2 firmware?

Go to Settings then Apps then select "Show system apps" from pull down menu. then scroll down to the Phone app (the first of 3 with the largest storage figure (780 Kb in my case), then select More settings, then scroll down the screen where you will finally find the W-Fi calling option.
