Samsung Galaxy S II advice please

Just received my new Galaxy S II, how do I know if it has the lastest software, and if it doesn't should I update before start using it. Thanks in advance.

latest o2 firmware is 2.3.3. go to settings > about phone, and you will see the android firmware version listed.

Mine came with 2.3.2 but once I plugged it into my laptop and open Kies it upgraded automatically to 2.3.3

2.3.4 is out but O2 are absolutely rubbish for giving software updates.

Are you on the O2 network with a branded phone? Doubt it and maybe you should also get your keypad sorted.

I have just updated to 2.3.5, is this possible as my phone is an insurance replacement.

2.3.5 has been available on o2 (through KIES) for a couple of weeks now.
