Samsung Galaxy 2 Issues with 2 different handsets

Hi

I got my first S2 end of September but about 4 days in, it started turning itself off at random, one night I left it fully charged and by half 6 the next morning I found it had gone off again and once i got it back on by removing the battery and putting it back in again, it was charged to 17%, so after having had it a week, I took it back to the shop and they gave me a new one.

Now, after a week of having the new one, it started doing the same thing again, turning off at random, but just now, I was having a conversation with my dad whilst using speakerphone and he said to me...'what's that beeping on the line'? so I went to wake the screen up to take it off speakerphone to see if the beeping would stop, but the screen wouldnt come on. It was as if it was off again, no buttons worked, no screen, nothing, but somehow, the connection was still on for me to be talking to him. I got him to hang up and tried to charge it, no go, had to take the battery out again for it to come back to life.

I tried updating firmware but it said there were no updates...any ideas before I go to the shop and do....well, I dont know what really, I gather I have 28days to get a new one and I got this 2nd one on the 5th, but Im not sure having a 3rd one would make any sense if they're all going to be faulty!

OK so just over a week since I did the restore, didnt add any apps, all working fine. Yesterday I added the Facebook app, today the screen goes black again. I therefore conclude that the issue is the Facebook app. Facebook app now removed, I shall use it through the internet...*Shakes fist at FB*

'Course if it goes black after this I shall let you know to rule out FB, but I'm convinced it's the problem seeing as it's the app I'd probably use the most, it just has to be!

Thanking you for your services peeps! slight_smile

NO!

I added instagram yesterday and it blacked out just now, does it just hate apps or does it just hate me?

<Sigh>

Struggling to think of anything we haven't tried already. Remind me, do you have an SD card? Are apps installing to phone? Do you have power save on? Does it happen when connected to wifi, mobile data or both, what accounts do you have syncing......???
