Samsung A3 after update can't download. Can't get onto Google Play

I updated my Samsung A3 last week, since then I cannot get onto Google Play services.  It says its being updated but this has been days and days.  I've cleared cache and data.

I have a feeling I'll have to reset to factory settings.  can anyone advise please?

Good luck 🍀 with the download. It's easy but you will probably need to tick the box to allow from unknown sources when you install.

Ok

I know my Android version is 7.0 Nougat, however it will download but not let me open any of the files.  I've tried all of them twice!!!

I think I might just reset the phone and start from scratch,  its already lost all my contacts etc.

When you tap on one of the files you've downloaded, it should go straight to install, or it will give you an error if you didn't allow unknown sources as explained on the link.
What happens when you tap on one of the downloads?

When i downloaded the file it just said "Can't open".

I've done a little more searching and it says on my phone that the app isn't installed the package appears to be corrupt.  I can't download it and I can't get into it.

Hmmmm, it's looking more like a factory reset with every post 😞
