S9+ Keyboard Query

Hi,

I recently upgraded to an S9+ from the S7 Edge. With my S7, I was able to easily get to emojis as it was next to the extra symbols icon, but now it's a longer process (have to click the symbol top left and then another one). Just wondering if I am able to move the icon to where it was on the S7 (bottom left).

I've looked and it can't be switched.
However, gboard by google has the button there and has a skin that matches the Samsung one.

Hi @-Ben-

I'm not sure... though a couple of our members @Glory1 and @viridis  have the S9

I have mentioned them here in the hope they will be able to help (or @MI5)

I doubt you can change that to the original position. Personally I find the Swiftkey keyboard much better.

I have put a "," when trying to get to my emojis more times than I can count, but maybe it will be better once I am used to it then @jonsie.

Thank you @viridis. Is the gboard separate from the keyboard settings?

It's an app that you download from the store, open it and it guides you through the setup

@viridis helped @-Ben- as he has the S9 I believe.

I have the S8+ and I see what @-Ben- means because it is very similar on the S8+. The comma is now where the emojis key was originally and there is a block above the numbers keys containing emojis, gifs, stickers, settings and Google assistant all changed as a result of the update to Oreo. I still find myself hitting the comma when I want an emoji and hitting the extra symbols key when I want a comma. I do get there in the end but wish they hadn't changed it. After all, if it ain't broke........

So a new keyboard seems to be needed. I couldn't take to the Google keyboard but it's all down to personal choice. SwiftKey gives me the text directional arrows, a nice ManU colour and smilie key where it should be 😁
