Hi Guys
I bought an oppo reno 5g phone 2nd hand a few months back. I love the phone and i currently use it with vodafone and it is working perfectly.
I was very frustrated to hear that i am not able to get 5g vodafone signal because apparently oppo or EE have done something to make the 5g signal only with them.
EE is too expensive for me to use and i have just spotted that o2 are now selling this phone. Does that mean i can get an o2 sim and 5G signal will work?

Ok so i forgot to mention that i bought the phone on ebay but it was shipped from Switzerland..
So i emailed oppo about this
This was thier response
"In regards to your inquiry about the 5g network, we would like to inform you that if the device was bought from SWISSCOM then it will only access the 5g network of SWISSCOM.
kindly provide us with the proof of purchase to be able to assist you further."
So i guess it was my fault for puchasing a phone from outside the UK. The listing said it was unlocked so i assumed that it meant 5g would work. Guess i will never make that mistake again.
So annoyed.

So 5G is on a different bandwidth in Switzerland then? Who knew.

Maybe if you flashed O2 software?
