check for fluff in your mic hole or if a case or something is covering it.

Check for fluff or dirt in the microphone. Make sure any screen protector or phone case is not obstructing the microphone.

Hi @Anonymous  -  Is it at all possible that the "secrecy" feature has been activated accidentally?  During  calls it is possible to MUTE the microphone so that the person at the other end cannot  overhear you when you are consulting someone else?  Sorry if this is a silly suggestion - but may as well discount all possibilities before seeking repair.

Will take it to my nearest shop I think. CHesked mute button and its definatly not on. All people can hear is interferance noise and a very faint version of my voice that sounds like im underwater. Only had it since last November so rather annoyed as can't even ring anybody to make appts etc.

You would have to activate the mute function on every call for it to be that anyway.
Have you tried making a call handsfree, using the speakerphone feature?

Do you have a headset with mic that you can plug in, or a Bluetooth headset you can use as a stopgap so you can still make calls until you can get it in for repair?

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
