I'm aware there's no charger included with my HTC One X+ to help save the rain forrests and all that stuff, but the problem is charging from my PC takes at least twice as long. So I'm forced to pay extra for the inconvience o2 caused me? That doesn't sound fair at all to me. I bet o2's "discounted charger" is poor quaility also and doesn't output 1A like the HTC charger does. I want a genuine HTC charger that charges my phone properly and I shouldn't have to resort to paying £5 on ebay for a proper one.

Well, I spoke to 2 different o2 Guru's yesterday and both said go to any o2 store, they'll supply you with a HTC charger. Went to one today, they said that's not the case but he ordered one for me which will come through the post. All sorted I guess.
To the guy who asked why I went with o2 (I can't figure out how to quote on this forum), it's because the HTC One X+ deal is quite good, plus you get £50 cashback via QuidCo and I like a good deal. I usually buy sim free phones and go on GiffGaff but some times contract deals are good, this one only has 500mb of data which isn't great but I should be able to get away with it since I use wifi a lot.

What phone did you have previously? The majority of phones produced over recent years can be charged from the same lead / ac adapter.
The idea behind the One X+ not being boxed with a charger is simply because there are so many of them laying around unused, which personally I feel is a great step forward for manufacturers and providers - not necessarily to force you to charge via USB on a computer / laptop.
The situation you are in is unfortunately down to the decision you made when you went for that particular handset.
I know this response is of no help and will be interpreted as unsympathetic, but there is really no alterative but to purchase a charger or return the device (subject to when / where you purchased it).

No they don't, if you take a look on ebay they all offer different outputs and look like they're made out of cheese also. I wouldn't be surprised if o2 used the same grade product and slapped their logo on it.
I want a geniune HTC charger that outputs the correct ampage so I don't have to wait 6 hours for my phone to fully charge from my PC.

I used to have an iPhone 5 but I sold it along with the charger. I don't have any other USB chargers, I always sell off my gadgets before upgrading.

if you are that desperate & want one, buy one from htc themselves

Why should I? o2 should supply with me one like everyone else, I shouldn't have to pay a penny. Just supplying the USB cable isn't good enough if it takes so long to charge the phone.

I was ok with it until I realised how long it takes to charge. Very inconvenient.
