I'm aware there's no charger included with my HTC One X+ to help save the rain forrests and all that stuff, but the problem is charging from my PC takes at least twice as long. So I'm forced to pay extra for the inconvience o2 caused me? That doesn't sound fair at all to me. I bet o2's "discounted charger" is poor quaility also and doesn't output 1A like the HTC charger does. I want a genuine HTC charger that charges my phone properly and I shouldn't have to resort to paying £5 on ebay for a proper one.

I just looked on ebay - the very first adaptor I looked at was 1000ma - £2.19 - seller with 99.9% feedback.
Your pc/laptop will be outputting 500ma - it will charge any phone but it will take longer if you are charging with high-draw hardware active - switching off blue-tooth, wi-fi, data etc will reduce charge-times (and soon save enough money on your leccy bill to buy a charger :))
Incidentally - did you have to buy your phone from O2? If not, was the purchase price exactly the same everywhere - or did you pay more or less than elsewhere?

Surely this is a HTC issue and has nothing to do with O2.
Anybody you know that has updated from a Galaxy s2 to a s3, S2 and HTC use the same charger connections.

I will edit it but I meant the same charger for the HTC as my sister has one so a S2 user will have one spare.

No it's an idea from O2 and others I believe:

They asked people and the response suggested most people would be ok with it.
All the makers are now supposed to be making a standard charging system.

I did not know that but I have to say I think it is a great idea, I have chargers and cables coming out of my ears at home.
