No OTA updates for my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

Anonymous

Hi I have not had any of the recent OTA updates for my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge since I had it in March. Is this because O2 are slow and rolling them out or is it my phone?

Android N is not that far away, so I'd be surprised if there were any other than security updates for Marshmallow from now on.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

Hey all,

On Friday just past, our device team approved an S7 & S7 edge maintenance release & security update and sent these back to Samsung, so you should see these updates trickle out over the coming days.

The CSC of the update will be G935FTEF1APC2

Hi Chris, is this how o2 will be doing updates going forward? This quickly I mean?

It's difficult for me to answer that as nothing has changed with our process here - we await software from a vendor, we test it, we give them the OK to release it (if no issues found), or give feedback on issues we have found and get a fix implemented - that's always been the case slight_smile

PS. I received this OTA update last night on my own S7 edge - if you don't yet have it, try checking for updates manually. If that doesn't do it, you may need to wait a couple more days, or maybe try KIES on your computer.

It sounds like a restriction in the O2 firmware.
It would make sense to restrict updates to wifi only due to their size.
There is usually an option in the settings though to change unless O2 have disabled that?
@Chris_K would probably know for sure.
