Sometimes, with international sims it depends on the phones available bands, 3G and LTE operate on several different frequency bands. The iPhone won't have problems because it covers the full spectrum. Contact the carrier you're using and see if your phone supports their 3G network.
If that fails you might need to re-activate the sim card.
