She is on Vodafone, so I requested a network unlock code, which didn't work. I requested another, thinking there may have been an error, and the second didn't work either. Both codes contained the required 16 digits (both different codes too).
I will call o2 on Monday. But I was wondering if there was a known issue with unlocking Sony phones? Thank you.

As O2 have provided you with an incorrect code which has caused this I would raise a complaint http://www.o2.co.uk/how-to-complain

With your o2 sim in can you do the following :
Go to phone dialler and enter
*#*#7378423#*#*
This will open up the service setting menu.
Then go to
Service info
Then
Sim lock
Can you write back here with what is listed in the brackets the name and the number of each item there paying close attention to the network one.

I don't have an o2 sim that has service, as I switched to nano for my new phone and the old sim is now defunct. Does that matter?
