Network connections

can someone tell me why, when I try to sign into 'My 02' on my Samsung Galaxy, I so often get the message to 'check your network connections'.   I have WiFi switched on and Packet Data - what else do I need?   I also get the same message often when I try to get online.   I'm getting a bit fed up!

It simply means there is no network connection. Sometimes you can be connected to a wifi signal with no internet connection behind it (check for router issues) or switch to 3g data and see if you can connect that way.
