I have got totally fed up of waiting for O2 to release the Jelly Bean update for my Galaxy S2 i9100P that I have now flashed it with the Orange Jelly Bean Release. Of course your phone needs to be unlocked from O2 and it is then as easy as ABC. It retains the full NFC capability and works perfectly apart from having some Orange apps that you can remove They released it on 22nd May and anyone interested can read the article at
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/469924/20130522/galaxys2-i9100p-official-android412-xxlsq-jellybea... which gives the instruction and links to the required files.
Well done O2 for being so behind other operators.
This is a fully official Samsung release and means that afterwards you can still use Kies for updates. I previously had a O2 Sony Xperia and had to swap it out for a smasung because O2 never released any of the updates for it. It looks like O2 are more interested in getting you to change your phone and contract and having to pay more. Consequently I got disgrunteled with O2 paid them to release me from my contract which had 11 months still to run. I then moved to a well known high street supermarket's mobile service who shall remain anonymous but begins with a 'T' and ends with an 'o'  ( who use the 02 network so the service and coverage were the same and no need to have the phone unlocked). I then got 500 minutes which is 10 times more call time; 1 Gb data, which is10 times as much data; and 5000 texts, also 10 times more than O2 all for for £10 which was a third less than O2 was charging me.

Hi,

Have you considered doing this manually using Odin..?  There's plenty of info about it here on the O2 forum and t'internet.

Hi all,

I'm currently based in South Sudan and have been waiting for the update but thought I maybe can't get it while here as I can't access any stores (which sucks!). Then when I connected to wifi yesterday the update just downloaded straight to my S2 I1900P NFC. Pretty stoked... it's like having a new phone.

Check Kies today and maybe you will have the same suprise.

C.
