Just spoke to an O2 Guru (online), who assured me that JB for the Samsung Galaxy S2 is in testing, and should be available for install in the next few weeks NOT Months.

You need to ask O2 as we don't have crystal balls, but if the i9100 version was any guide we'll never know

Spoke to an O2 rep yesterday via Online Chat. Asked them this very question: When will Jelly Bean be available for i9100p? They said by the end of this week! Although I doubt the quality of the information because at first she thought it was already released, but I reiterated that I had the NFC version - the i9100p. I really doubt that this information is accurate, but that's what they promised me - 2 more days to see if it comes true!

I know! I'm a bit fed up with Technical Support from a number of companies. My conclusion is that they know less than informed users! But, I'm just trying to get at the truth. If O2 don't know when Jelly Bean will be released for i9100p, then I wish they'd just say so! Who else at O2 do you think I should ask to learn what the launch schedule is likely to be?

Thanks MI5, it's pleasing to hear an honest reply - I know you don't work for O2, but good that you shared that in your experience there isn't anywhere else for me to turn for info on updates (bar SamMobile & plugging my phone into Kies every week!). 🙂 Asking O2 has yielded no benefits. Back to living my life & forgetting about Jelly Bean updates!

Best thing is to not follow any phone operator cause very few know but keep an eye on sites sammobile.com they seem on the ball and if they list the firmware version for a particular phone/operator it means it's released.
So far 4.1.2 has only been released in Italy (TIM) for the i9100P
